Some history of the Myers Famous Kosherie |
Moortown Delicatessen moved to its present site in 1984 formerly Roberts Delicatessen on King Lane. In 1991 it was refurbished and changed the name to Myers' Famous Kosherie under the ownership of Peter Myers. Malcolm Sorkin joined Peter in 1984 as a temporary part time assistant but over the next 16 years he rose to Manager and on November 1st 2000 became a partner. Malcolm took over solely 3 years later when Peter retired. The Kosherie, as it is affectionately known, is in the heart of the Jewish community in Leeds and serves customers from all around the North of England.
